Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Michigan?
In most municipalities we serve, yes: a roof replacement requires a building permit and inspection under the Michigan Residential Code. As a Michigan Licensed Residential Builder, we pull the correct permit for your city or township and coordinate the inspection as part of every job, so your project is done right on paper as well as on the roof.
Do you replace skylights and fix structural damage too?
Yes to both. Skylight replacement is part of our repair and replacement work, an aging skylight is usually smarter to replace during roof work than to flash around, and every roof inspection we run includes the skylights. We also repair structural roof damage: rotted decking, water-damaged framing, and sagging sections get cut out and rebuilt as part of the roofing work, because a new surface over compromised structure isn't a repair, it's a cover-up.
Do you remove snow from roofs in winter?
Yes, roofs only, all winter, across our service area. Heavy lake-effect loads and building ice dams are exactly when a roof shouldn't be climbed by anyone who doesn't do it for a living. Our general rule: once roughly 6 to 8 inches has accumulated, the two-week forecast holds below 35 daily, and more snow is coming, it's time. Call or text and we'll get it scheduled.
